Samsung’s Solar Powered Phone

Talk about an earth-friendly phone – Samsung wasn’t kidding about it when they made the “Blue Earth”. While Motorola was able to make the first phone from recycled water bottles, the Blue Earth is the first ever solar-powered touch screen handset. This little green gizmo, like its Motorola counterpart, is literally made out of the plastic from recycled water bottles.
While details of the Blue Earth is yet to be revealed in the World Mobile Congress to be held in Barcelona in the near future, there have already been news about the distinct features about this mobile phone, especially with its eco-friendly aspects.

For one thing, the Blue Earth can be recharged by simply exposing its backside to the sunlight, hence, its solar-powered feature. It also features “eco-mode” and “eco-walk” applications that help trace your footsteps and calculate how much carbon you’ve helped reduce by just walking.
With the looks of it, the Blue Earth will be full of surprises. But we’re going to have to wait until they finally lay down the more important details like prices and specs.
