Motorola’s Eco-phone: Renew

Author JoeDigital

Motorola’s green phone is called “Renew”, and it’s generally got a lot of nice features included. Of course, this is one of the first of its kind, being a phone designed to carry an aura of environmental friendliness to it, so it has its ups and downs to it.

But when it came to eco-friendliness, the Motorola “Renew” was very “recyclable”. With its brown cardboard and recycled paper package and plastic casing made out of the material from water bottles, how can’t this phone be recyclable?

Of course, with that kind of material, you can’t expect the phone to look as grand as you would find more sophisticated phones nowadays. The LCD looks old fashioned and the appearance in general makes it look like an old model. It doesn’t even have GPS or Bluetooth. It does, however, have great sound and speaker capabilities. The calls are loud and clear and with the microSD card compatibility feature, you can also store and listen to Mp3 sounds.

All in all, the impression of the entire “Renew” phone gives you a cute basic look with a promise that you’re doing something for the environment by going for this phone over other models. With its originality, it certainly is an option.
