New ipod shuffle review
Author JoeDigital | 26.03.2009 | Category Mac/Apple
The long awaited ipod shuffle came out March 11th toted as “the worlds smallest” mp3 player. Apple claims the new ipod shuffle is “jaw-droppingly” small, with new features such as VoiceOver which allows the ipod to tell you what song is plaing with a push of a button, it can even tell you what playlist you are on. It is half the size of the Gen 2 ipod and has the controls on the headphones. The new ipod at the moment is available in Silver or Black.
I purchased my 4GB ipod shuffle from Bestbuy for 99.99 (Canadian dollars.. thats 75$ USD) basically the same price at any store that sells ipods since Apple seems to have a price fix on them. I found the apple overivew to be spot on, with this ipod shuffle being much smaller then the original, the new Voiceover feature worked great and I thought it was an excellent feature. Battery life is that which is expected from the ipod with about 7 hours of battery life. My only issues with the new ipod where this, the controls are on the headphones and those tend to break often (atleast with my previouse ipods I had to change the headphones a couple times due to wear) so im not sure what the replacment value is on these.. will it cost half as much as just buying a new shuffle?. and secondly this new ipod is amazingly small for the features and battery life it provides so small that im afraid I would lose it without knowing or it will just slid out of a hole in my pocket.

NCAA March Madness Online
Author JoeDigital | 25.03.2009 | Category Mac/Apple, Technology Viewpoint, Telecommunications
You have work to do but you really, really want to follow the March Madness. Right now, if you have a computer in your office or an iPhone that you can bring with you, then consider yourself lucky – because it’s never been easier to follow the event while you’re at work.
With the help of NCAA’s on demand March Madness site or the recently available March Madness iPhone application, you’ll be able to follow the games discretely in your office. The good thing about this whole ordeal this time around is that there are no registration hassles or any kind of queuing for that matter. In seconds your desktop is ready to stream the game play.
That’s not the only thing that’s changed, because we now get to watch everything using HD video player – say goodbye to choppy running and stuttering.
Now all you have to do is to focus on that old-age technique of switching windows every time your boss comes in to check in on you. Then again, what makes you think your boss isn’t doing it too?

Psystar: A Mac Clone
Author JoeDigital | 22.03.2009 | Category Innovation, Mac/Apple

Ever heard of the Psystar? It’s a Mac OS X-Compatible Desktop. The Open(3) is designed as an open computer that came with the Mac OS X pre-installed. So far, this product has had really good reviews from reviewers like CNET.
The Psystar is equipped with an impressive set of specs for the user to enjoy. It has a 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2GB worth of DDR2 Ram, Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS quality graphics, and 500 GB worth of hard disk space.
With the Open(3) at $599, this desktop has been giving many users satisfaction for over a year now, and things seem to have only gotten better on the part of the users (which is a good thing for Psystar) when this Mac Clone came in stock and ready for shipping into the market.
Unfortunately, not everyone is happy. Apple launched a lawsuit against Psystar on the ground of violating the end-user license agreement. Despite such legal problem, Psystar continues to distribute. The verdict of Apple vs. Psystar will definitely have an impact on the part of those who have and will buy the Mac clone.
