USB Warm Slippers
Author JoeDigital | 19.03.2009 | Category Consumer Electronics, Innovation, Technology

It’s amazing (and funny) what Japanese technology is doing with USB nowadays. Thanks to Thanko, now we’ve got USB slippers warming our feet during those cold nights. These electronic plush slippers are charged and powered through (you guessed it) USB so that it can warm you up whenever you need it.
The good thing about this particular product is that it functions wirelessly. This means that the slippers don’t have to suffer the same fate as other USB devices that need to be constantly close to your laptop or PC, otherwise they can’t be plugged into the computer. One just can’t imagine not being able to walk around because the USB cable of your slippers will snap. That wouldn’t make sense.
In fact, the slippers work virtually by themselves. The USB is meant for charging purposes only. Furthermore, if you can’t access any USB port at the moment, you can also use its AC Adapter as an alternative. Surely at only $42, this is a convenient way to warm your feet up.

Author JoeDigital | 17.03.2009 | Category Computers, Consumer Electronics, Innovation

While this funny little Japanese gadget is already cute enough because it looks like some little robot, the Minoru 3D Webcam is made cooler because of its distinct feature as a webcam – it can record films in 3D.
The little gadget uses the same principle of 3D as those movie clips you watch in the amusement park where you get to see things actually flying out of the big screen while the movie goes on. Because of this, you also need to wear those red and blue glasses in order for you to be able to enjoy its full 3d effects.
Minoru doesn’t lack in convenience, either. It doesn’t need any kind of special software for installation and can very much work with any kind of popular instant messaging software like !Yahoo Messenger or Skype. With its quality and fun features, you can even use it to make videos on YouTube. This is one fun gadget you don’t want to miss.

Social networking more Popular than Email
Author JoeDigital | 15.03.2009 | Category Computers, Consumer Electronics, Technology Viewpoint

Having to accommodate over millions of online patrons worldwide every single day, a report shows that social networking has become the second top surfer’s target since 2008, topping email that used to take the second spot right after the unbeatable search engines. As for the numbers (as provided by Nielsen Wire in their report), 67% of internet users go online for websites like Facebook and MySpace while 65.1% of that population use email.
Part of that report also indicated that for every fifteen minutes of browsing, most of us actually spend one minute crawling around Facebook or MySpace or some similar social networking site.
And it’s not just for kids, because even adults are making use of social networking sites nowadays. This widened scope of audience is probably one of the factors that boosted the rank of social networking in the report.
Lastly, this report simply goes to show that we spend more time on Facebook than we do checking our emails. That can say a lot about the present online surfing population.
