These days, as iPod’s cost is getting high in Korea, new MP3 brands are showing up. Mintpass is the one of them and they have done well until now.
Mintpass released Mintpad’ new model, DMB Black Edition. It supports internet, blog, chatting, memo, recording video and adds DMB. And it features 2.86’’ TFT LCD touch screen display, ARM9 400Mhz CPU, 128MB SD memory, 26.2thousands colors, 4GB insert memory, Micro SD card slot-up to 16GB, wireless LAN, 1.3mega pixel camera, 78.2mm x 63.8mm x 15.2mm size and 90g weight (including battery). It will last 30 hours for playing MP3 and 5 hours for video.
It is available in Korea for 239,000won(about CAD$200).

They come from red and silver colors, sound 5.1 Channel and 2.1 Channel. They also support Sound Decanting so you can select the sounds depending on videos.

Samsung electronics released high tech MP3 player, YP-Q2.
It features Audio upscale that restores missing MP3 files to normal, Concert hall sound mode, DNSe™ 3.0, 50 hours battery, Auto bookmark, User button system, 2.4’’ LCD, WMA/MPEG4 video files support, FM radio, Touch pad games, Text viewer and a thickness of 9.9mm.
They announced it has compassed technologies as they has developed and released Yep series for 10 years.
It comes from onyx black, pearl white and turkey blue colors. It costs 139,000 won with 4GB, 179,000 won with 8GB and 239,000 with 16GB.

This model is not new one, but it looks more professional. It can be waterproof up to 3m and it has 2GB memory and 8hours battery.

Warwick audio Technology with Warwick University developed Ultra-Slim Transparent Film Speaker having a thickness of 0.25mm, ‘FFL (Flat Flexible Loudspeaker)’
Even though it has only a thickness of 0.25mm, it operates with A3~A5 size and sounds 80~105dB. It will be available within the end of this year.

Sony, Cool OLED Walkman

Sony will release new OLED walkmans on 25th April in Japan. NW-1050 model with 16GB will cost CAD$500 and NW-X1060 model with 32GB will cost CAD$610 approximately –you can choose red or black color. But those costs are estimated for domestic consumption. So I hope that you will get it cheaper when it will be available in other countries.
Who will buy it instead of iPod touch if it’s more expensive?

Sony Korea announced they released digital photo frames ‘S-Frame 2009’ -DPF-X1000(10.2’’), DPF-V800(8’’) and DPF-D72(7’’)
They features 15 times lighter than general LCD (289.3cd/m2 with 300lx), up to 4,8megapixel display, premium floating design, panorama display, edit function, auto Touchup, auto dimmer, time and calendar and remote controller.
DPF-X1000 has 2GB memory so you can save 2megapixel pictures up to 4,000. And the others have 1GB memory, you can save up to 2,000.
