Samsung has unveiled R470 & R522, both of them feature Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 (2.2Ghz), 3GB DDR2 800 Mhz, 320GB SATA HDD, 16:9 LED display, SRS Audio and HDMI. R470 has 14’’ display, NVIDIA GeForce G105M Graphic card and Intel PM45 Chipset. R522 has 15’’ display, Intel GMA X4500 Graphic card and Intel GM45 Chipset. R470 costs HKD$7,780 and R522 costs HKD$6,690.

NorTec announced mini notebook ‘Gecko Edubook’ that runs with standard AA size cells.
It features 8.9’’ display, suitable for touch environment, 1GHz Xcore86 Device on Chip™, no cooling fan and USB 2.0 ports. It supports Ubuntu Remix, Linux and Windows XP. You can choose 2.5’’ HDD or Flash memory. It runs for 4 hours with 8 standard AA size cells or Li+3S2P battery. The Gecko EduBook is modular in that the CPU and RAM are on a removable module so that future upgrade can be made available by simply upgrading the module. The price for the laptop starts at $200 for the basic configuration

Hynix announced that they had developed the world’s best performance 1 GB Mobile LPDDR2 using 54 nano technology yesterday. They will mass-produce it from July. It makes super-high data transfer rate, 1066Mbps with 1.2V low tension. General D RAM operates with 1.8V so new D RAM saves 50% electric power. You can download 5 or 6 movies just for a sec. Japan CFD released SSD Drive. It features 2.5’’ MLC (multi-level cell) based on NAND flash memory and SATA 3.0 Gbps Interface cache memory. It has 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacity. Each model has different performance. 32GB and 64GB have 200MB/s for read, 95MB/s for write. 128GB and 256GB have 240MB/s for read, 150MB/s for write.
