The Nokia Slide 6260

After the not so recent release of the Blackberry Storm, Nokia comes up with its own year end finale and officially announces that the Nokia 6260 will be released and available in the markets by January 2009. And despite the fact that this phone doesn’t have that much of new features, it’s still in demand for release.

The Nokia 6260 slider is almost similar to the 6220: it has the same 5.0 mega pixel camera with its classic auto-focus and flash. The camera also has a numeric 2.4 inches keypad and a 320 by 480 display.

Hitting the market this early January in Europe at 299 Euros, the Nokia 6260 Slide provides a relatively wide range of internet access to its users, which includes Wi-Fi, 3G, and A-GPS. It also comes with the basic 200 MB internal memory via microSD and has six hours span of call and 400 hours standby time.

Blackberry stays competitive with its new touch screen, Storm.

Right after the release of the iPhone 3G and the T-mobile’s Android-powered G1, 2008 closes with the last of the touch-screen mobile models this year, namely the Blackberry Storm. Like the iPhone and the T-mobile G1, the Storm is designed to possess the very trendy touch and click feature along with all the other qualities that the Blackberry series was known for. One could say that this product was specifically and intentionally designed to give its competition a run for their money.

The Storm weighs 5.5 ounces and measures 4.4 x 2.4 x 0.55 inches, making it smaller than the G1 but a little bigger than the iPhone. Its 3.5 inch screen boasts a 480 x 360 resolution, giving it an edge with imaging. Most of its functions are navigated by the touch and click feature, allowing users to move cursors with light tap and making clicks with heavier ones.

At $199 with a two-year contract, the Storm also comes with all other features at a higher degree including versatile messaging abilities and web browser coupled with the 1GB internal plus 8GB card storage and more.

The perfect solution for roommates

The perfect solution for roommates

Check out the Flatshare: a refrigerator designed to give roommates their space. Electrolux Design Lab 2008 Competition’s winner, Stephan Buchberger of the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, Austria, came up with an interesting winning piece that might turn the heads of all people who are living with roommates that are a bit too messy for comfort.

This neat but not-so-little gadget has a simple touch to it: it separates the fridge space among roommates for whatever purposes it might serve them. This kind of organization obviously solves the problem of roommates who risk smelling spoiled food placed and left by their other roommates. This lets them have their personal space to suit their taste – something that every college student bunking up in dorms or other people with similar lifestyles would want, even if it’s just fridge space.

The Flatrate also comes with other features like custom skin colors, bottle openers, a white board and other tools necessary for a cool fridge like this.

The Netbook X110

The Netbook X110

The LG X110 has got it going with its really snappy appearance. With a glossy casing around the sharp corners and squared base covered with its neat white apparel, this new netbook is quite the looker for anyone who wants to look slick while on business.

Right underneath the LG X110’s 2-2.5 hour battery is one of the netbook’s features – there is a slot for a mobile phone SIM to let users to access internet from their network operator, giving access virtually anytime and anywhere.

This netbook also has it made for those people who dream of a more comfortable keyboard. The full blown QWERTY type keyboard has a large return key for the benefit of typists who aren’t as accustomed to trimmed keyboards on most netbooks. Unfortunately, the keyboard must have taken up most of the space because of the relatively small touchpad, but most that opt for larger typing space might be able to live with it.

Despite its average specs, the LG X110 takes one step up for its comfort and appearance plus combo, and might be worth considering if you’re out on the market for one.

Author ColGlobe | 26.11.2008 | Category World Wide Web, world news

If you’re thinking that fraudulent online surfers spend lots and lots of money to find some other innocent person’s identity to use to his advantage, you might want to think again. Today, it’s easy to grab somebody’s identity online for as low as $120. This isn’t really much when you think that you will unlawfully be losing all your money, security and credibility the moment people will be making of your account for their own benefit.

What’s worse is that this “competitive” fraud price actually reaps more than thousands of dollars for the source, which means easy jobs for them – all at the very convenient expense of others.

This is a remember: be wary of your internet security, especially if you highly depend on it for matters such as banking and other transactions that risk being the target of online thieves. Always protect yourself from spyware as well as keep your accounts and passwords secure. When in doubt, increase security.

The new President of the United States has to reduce his telecommunications

Now that the tech savvy Barack Obama is about to take his seat at the Oval Office, the public might not see him with his BlackBerry smartphone any more, making the first e-President to take a step back on some of his tech-related hobbies.

While security is a very obvious primary reason for regulating the communication mediums of the newly elected President, Barack Obama is also subject to, by law, the Presidential Records Act, which mandates the recording of his correspondence to be part of official records and subject to reviews by the public.

Alongside all that, Obama will also have to deal with regulated email and chat for the purpose of security. He probably won’t be allowed to have a computer, either. All his correspondence have to be laid down and delivered to a fro him via hard copy. As for his take on the matter, it is clear that Obama will surely dread having to give up his techie lifestyle.
